2018 Park Improvements

 

The Park Commission completed an extensive list of improvement projects last year.  Here's a summary of what was done in each park.  Thank you to everyone who helped make all of this happen!

Madeline Summers Park (Okee)

  • Installed new swings
  • Installed new slide
  • Installed new 2-person teeter totter
  • Installed new Comet II spinner
  • Installed new ADA-approved merry-go-round
  • Installed new Suzy the Duck spring rider
  • Installed 140 cubic yards of ADA-approved wood fiber chips
  • Installed new park bench with commemorative plaque

Lewis Byrns Park (Harmony Grove)

  • Installed new swings
  • Installed new 360-degree slide
  • Installed 100 cubic yards of ADA-approved wood fiber chips
  • Installed new park bench in playground area
  • Installed new dog waste station at playground
  • Installed new dog waste station at the ball diamond
  • Installed electrical connection to pitcher’s mound on the ball diamond
  • Removed dead oak tree next to the shelter

Conservancy Park (Okee)

  • Planted two new blazing maple trees donated by residents of the Town
  • Installed new park bench donated by Susan Fisk with commemorative plaque
  • Installed new roof on the gazebo

Okee Beach Park (Okee)

  • Installed park bench donated by Karen Schmitz with commemorative plaque
  • Installed new dog waste station

Michael Park (Harmony Grove)

  • Installed new dog waste station

Wildenberg Wildlife Park (Harmony Grove)

  • Performed a controlled burn with the Lodi Fire department

Okee Schoolhouse Community Center (Okee)

  • Power washed entire outside of building
 

 


Town Parks

 

The Town of Lodi has nine developed parks (and several undeveloped park properties) that are managed by the Park Commission.  The Park Commission has five members as listed on the Commissions & Committees page.

Park Rules & Hours

 

Rules

  • No horses or unleashed pets.
  • No bicycles, motorcycles or minibikes to be driven in the parks.
  • No snowmobiles in the parks.
  • No fires except in designated places provided in the parks.
  • No loud music or noise that disturbs the peace.
  • No drunk or disorderly conduct.
  • No intoxicating liquor shall be consumed in the parks unless approved by the Town Board and permits are granted.
  • No firearms or Class B. or C. fireworks are allowed.
  • No tables or benches are to be removed from the parks or moved from one park to another.
  • No littering or destruction of property.

Hours

All town parks are open to the public from the hours of 8:00 am. to 9:00 p.m. except when different hours are authorized by the Town Board.

Park Reservations

Two sites can be reserved through the town office.  See Parks Reservation Forms for more information on reserving a site.


The Okee Schoolhouse holds 30 people and is furnished with tables, chairs and a complete kitchen.

The Lewis Byrns Park shelter is equipped with picnic tables and a kitchen.

* Fines for violations of ordinances: $100 - $500 plus costs associated with prosecution and possible jailtime. See Town of Lodi Ordinances, Section 9.01, Park Regulations for more information.
